    Default Upgrading need HELP

Hello and PLEASE PLEASE need a clarification so I dont screw up

I would like to update my 3gs OLD BOOTROM BB 5.11.x from 3.1.2 to 4.1 please note that unlock is very important to me

I did my reading and I understand that if I use the customs restore using the pwange 4.1.2 will be able to restore /update to 4.1 without upgrading the baseband. I do have the 4.1 shsh saved

Also please note that I have the original ATT sim but is not on service

My question pwange 4.1.2 In Expert mode, the default is to hacktivate (“Activate the iPhone”) so if I deselect that option in Expert mode will it update the Baseband or not and since I have an ATT SIM card without service will I be able to activate the 3gs using that SIM card I want to do that to avoid the problem with battery problem when using hacktivate

Thank you so much for all your time

Restoring to custom firmware will not touch your baseband.

Good enough, it will trigger from Emergency to Home Screen/

Yes, do not hactivate while creating custom firmware

    The final point :
Make sure you have updated your itunes first.
Run redsn0w and browse to stock 4.1 firmware only to put your iphone into dfu mode before restoring to CFW of 4.1
