Post Error - this device isn't eligible for the requested build

Hi, I have iPhone 3G 3.1.2 (Baseband 05.11.07) and unlocked with blackra1n. I want to upgrade to version 4.01.

I downloaded iPhone1,2_4.0.1_8A306_Restore.ipsw file. When I try to upgrade using this file I got this message: this device isn't eligible for the requested build.

What should I do to upgrade?

    Please help me.

Apple implemented a software SHSH for the iPhone 3G on any 4.x firmware. So you'd need to go to 4.2.1 to upgrade as currently that is what Apple is signing. If you're familiar with redsn0w and know how to get in to pwned DFU mode, I can share a custom Firmware for 4.2.1 for the iPhone 3G. This has no baseband upgrade and the only thing enabled is Battery Percentage.

PM me if you want a link to this firmware. I jailbroke 2 of my friend's 3G phones this past weekend & everything went smooth.

Let me make it clear that I do not have a hackivated IPSW. The IPSW I created was for those already on AT&T.
