Default Was wondering if anyone could help me?
I currently have an Iphone 3gs with firmware 3.1.3, baseband 05.12.01, Bootloader 6.4 and model MC135. To the best of my knowledge the phone has never been jailbroken or unlocked before. The phone is also still not activated.

I did a little research and i think the best bet for me to jailbreak and unlock would be to use Snowbreeze and use a custom firmware which i tried doing. Custom firmware 4.1 was created and everything and I tried to Shift Restore on Itunes10.1 but i kept getting error 3194. Does anyone know why i keep getting this error? Should i try jailbreaking using a different method? Any help that anyone could get me would be appreciated greatly. Thanks again

First thing download Tiny Umbrella (Mac or Win), connect your phone, and select save all!

    The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella

Your options depend upon the results. Let us know

The only two SHSH's that showed up on Tinyumbrella were IPhone3GS 4.2.1 and Iphone3gs 4.2b3. Those are the newest releases of the firmware right? I dont think those help me much haha, Where should i go from here?

Personally I would wait a bit longer for the dev-team to release Pwnage for iOS 4.2.1 and retain your current unlockable baseband/modem firmware.

I was under the assumption that pwnage was able to retain your current baseband/modem firmware regardless. I'm really not interested in going to ios 4.2 but just wanted to jailbreak and unlock the phone. I dont mind just having it be jailbroken and unlocked to 4.0 for the time being.

Ya since 4.1 isnt being signed anymore gonna have to agree with Mes. Just sit tight until full untethered support is available for 4.2.1.

You can use idetector to find out the bootrom. You wont be able to restore to anything but 4.2.1 since that is all you have SHSH for.

Are SHSH's dependant of the phone? I actually have two Iphone 3GS's, The current one I'm trying to jailbreak/unlock and one that already is Jailbroken and unlocked. I have SHSH's from 4.0 onwards for the second Iphone i have. Theres no way to use those to try and jailbreak the current one i have?

Sorry if its a little bit confusing haha, thanks again guys!
