Cydia Not Loading - 2g Iphone

I have an iPhone 2g that I used QuickPwn method to JB several years ago (this thing has worked flawlessly (BIG THANKS TO ALL INVOLVED) until a week ago Cydia stopped opening.

I saw a few posts on here that suggest deleting an update /var/lib/dpkg/updates/ folder. It is straight forward and I was able to follow it no problem. Only issue is that I appear to be logged into the mobile terminal without proper permission to delete this folder and or files inside of it.

Is there a away I can gain proper access? Is there another way to gain access to these files VIA PC? Or would it be best to re jailbreak? If re jailbreak is the method suggested what would be the fastest, easiest way to do this without a restore? Spirit?

I figured this out. I used IphoneBrowser to indeed delete the files mentioned in my OP and sure enough on reboot Cydia is now working again
