iPhone 3G Firmware 4.0 problem

When I jailbreak the iPhone 3G 4.0 firmware it will not activate the iphone after jailbreaking it will not show the number up but the jailbreak works but no activation what can I do about this? Please help me? Thank so much

I fixed my problem for now on I am using redsnow besides other jailbreak programes so I finally got my 3G firmware 4.0 jailbreaked so happy now!

If you are with a legit provider then itunes will activate your phone, regardless if you are using Redsn0w or pwnage tool. The only thing I found is with Redsn0w, it would revert my carrier update back to the old settings after jailbreaking with Redsn0w which killed my data connection and the mms and the phone kept telling me that there was a carrier update but it would never actually update so I had to use pwnage tool and all is good now.
