re jailbreak iphone 3gs,3.1.3

my iphone3gs 3.1.3 and 5.12.01 was jailbroken but I couldnt unlock....except using sim ,everything could be used...i accidentally upgraded using itune to apple updates...now nothing could be used....just emergency dialing comes...i tried to re-jailbreak but still couldnt succeed...any solution???

You will need a sim card from am official carrier to activate the phone with iTunes. Yes it needs to be activated even just to use it as an iPod.
