Virgin 3.0.1 to 3.1.2 with Jailbreak

Guys im on 3.0.1 and my 3G phone has not been jailbroken now i want to upgrde to 3.1.2 with Jailbreak and unlock. How should i do this? I know 3.1.2 is not signed anymore and if i change to sauriks server will i be able to load custom firmware?

Firmware signing is only for the 3GS phone, not 3G, so you can restore to any version you want. Additionally, custom firmwares skip signing altogether on any phone.

So, you don't need to edit your hosts file because your phone will gladly accept any firmware you attempt to restore to.

Use a custom 3.1.2/3.1.3 firmware and restore to that. Afterwards, unlock using ultrasn0w.
