Restore New iPhone 3GS after "Erase all Content and Settings"
This was pretty much a brand new iPhone 3GS (3.1.2) MC-Model, just jailbroken with blackrain. I had some issues with the phone and needed to erase everything. I did so by the "Erase all Contents and Settings". I know I shouldn't have jumped into doing this, but I did all my research on all this afterwards. So I just want to see if there is still anything I can do to keep it at 3.1.2 or if I'll just have to restore through iTunes updating it to the 3.1.3 firmware.
The way I understand it is that after erasing everything, I also erased the OS of the phone, which is why neither one of the Jailbreak wares works, until I restore the phone with iTunes, right? Well, since I got the phone after it was still possible to do the SHSH backup with cydia, I don't have them, and therefore no way to update it with the 3.1.2 firmware on my computer.
Now, before I just update it to the 3.1.3, I was just wondering if it would be possible to update the phone using someone else's backup, or is that completely impossible because of the different ECID on every phone.
Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the quick reply. Well, I pretty much figured that, just thought I'd ask before I restore with the new firmware. I have another another iPhone 3GS with the old bootrom and 3.1.2 firmware, which works perfectly fine on jailbreak. So on the new one, I'll just try to keep up to date about news on a 3.1.3 jailbreak.
Thanks.

Same problem
The real question is, is there another way to enter dfu mode and get out of the Recovery loop? I have the same problem here.
This is what ive tried thus far -
See post on hackintosh:

I think ive even unknowingly left my hash after installing SSH and changing my default password. I remember Cydia saying something on the top of the program about something being stored for that specific phone. This was done while the phone was on 3.1.2.
Any idea where i can go from here?

If your SHSH was saved on Saurik at 3.1.2, you can change your host having iTunes connected to Saurik server. By doing that, you can restore your phone with Apple FW 3.1.2
instruction is here Downgrade iPhone 3GS OS 3.1.3 to 3.1.2 With Cydia SHSH | jailbreak
If you're phone is at 3.1.2 NOW and it's just going thru the recovery loop, try the instruction above.
It will works if your SHSH is save on Saurik server at 3.1.2
good luck
