I used to have a jailbroken 2G iPhone but have been away from the jailbreaking scene for a while. I now have a 3GS, which I have updated to 3.1.2 when it was released by Apple. I believe that I should be OK to Jailbreak (iBoot-359.3) but I am not sure how.
My understanding is that I can use the Pwnage tool to have an unteathered jailbreak but I dont know if I can as Apple is no longer signing 3.1.2 firmware files. (I have tried using my ECID number in the Umbrella application, but it was unable to retrieve it for 3.1.2 but worked for 3.1.3).
I don't mind if I am jailbroken on 3.1.2 or 3.1.3, any advice would be greatly received. I am running MAC OSX.
Umm, personally I really like backgrounder for multitasking. Winterboard is nice for customization. SBSettings is nice as well for easy access to a lot of options, also shows what apps are running and you can kill them from there.
There's really a lot of nice apps, but those are the essentials for me.
Hello Guys
I bought a new iPhone 3GS and wanted to jailbreak and unlock it, but I am facing to a problem: I do not have access to the iPhone's data, including the type of firmware installed as whenever I switch it on, I get a message telling me that my iPhone has not been activated yet and so one. But to tell the true, I am not going to use the same provider.
hey there. I got a new iphone 3gs and thought I had already jailbroke it, but I cannot install any apps on it. It says they are unsigned so they do not work... Do I need to do a restart after jailbreaking? I tried on a previous 3GS and it said it went into recovery mode. I would have lost everything if I did this and would update to 3.1.3 so I returned the phone for another 3.1.2 phone. Jailbroke with the correct version? and did not restart the phone in fear of the same thing happening... I did synch all my info though so it may be okay to restart, just not update...
