Exclamation Iphone stuck and will not turn on, cant even restore it in Itunes!!

I was trying to jailbreak my Iphone 3gs 3.1.2 with Pwnage tool and got to the part when I restore using custom restore and it will not restore. When I try to, itunes comes up with the error "the iphone could not be restored, an unknown error occurred 1600". Now I cannot even do a regular restore of update and restore. It comes up with error "the iphone cannot be restored at this time because the "iphone update server could not be contacted or is temporary unavailable."
The iphone screen is black and cannot do anything at all becides what I described above.
    PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Same problem here, does anyone have a fix?
If not, what are the chances that taking it to an Apple store will get the problem sorted?

    do not worry
    1. update to latest itunes
    2. put phone in DFU mode
    3. restore
    4. run blackrain

that should do it. by the way have you ever been able to do a restore of an iphone on the computer you are using?
All information contained in my post came to me in a dream. I don't even own an iphone.

FIXED! I simply went to a Next Byte store (Apple reseller) who plugged it into their computer and woala! Just try doing what you're doing but with another computer, should work!
