Help Jailbreak 3GS

I just used Pwnage tool 3.1.4 to create a firmware for my new 16gb iPhone 3GS. I download the firmware from iPod and iPhone Firmware Download

Got itunes to resort the custom firmware, the iphone showed the apple logo with the progress bar, after it completed it rebooted and I had a blank screen, and itunes said it was still in recovery mode! So I tried again and it came up with failed to restore iphone!

I'm restoring it now with the firmware itunes downloads. But how do I jailbreak the 3GS?

Hello Mate,

Did you recently buy the new Iphone? I just got mine last night and I was trying to JB as well, I ran into the same problem as you. Did some google searching and it looks like we are SOL when it comes to using Pwnage tool. Seems like Apple is now one step ahead of jailbreakers. It seem they have started to ship phones with a new bootrom, in essence this bootrom is the very first thing to boot up. It checks the phones OS and makes sure its legit. If it detects an unauthorized OS it will kick it back into Recovery mode. That is what is happening to us. So until they figure out another exploit on this new bootrom we can not use the pwnage tool.

We can however use blackra1n tool. It jailbreaks it, but the only downside is that if you turn off the phone, or it reboots, or drain the battery it will go into recovery mode, you will need to use the blackra1n tool again. You will need to do this every time the phone reboots. I think we just have to wait and see if anyone comes up with a fix, or rather a break.

ya what he said. if its new u cant full jailbreak it.
u can by upgrading to 3.1.2 and jailbreakin with blackra1n but everytime u reboot u have to rejailbreak again

Brought the iphone today

I tried using blackra1n, but dont know what to do! I press that single button and it reboots my iphone and then what I do?

I tried using blackra1n after installing my pwned firmware, but it didn't work. So I've reverted back to the Apple factory firmware for now.

What do I need to do to get my 3GS jailbroken with blackra1n?

U know everytine u reboot u have to rejailbreak rote. But to jailbreak just click make it rain in blackrain.

What do you mean? Every time I reboot I have to reinstall the OS?

Ok I've pressed the button in blackra1n, now the phone has rebooted and it's got the USB plug and iTunes logo. What now?

No not the OS, only have to rerun Blackra1n every time you reboot.

Try running Blackra1n again.

To get gps back do ths
add this source in cydia
cydia.iphoneil.net
then search push
then install push & YouTube fx and then Itll work

Never mind, I Just rebooted and it's now working
