Upgrading Firmware
I have a 2G iPhone on 2.1 firmware 8G. I wanted to upgrade to 3.1 or 3.1.2. on a mac. How should I go about doing it? And which firmware should I go with? Any suggestions?

upgrade to 3.1.2
Then use blackra1n to jailbreak...The only thing I ask in return for helping, is that you click the thanks button, Thanks!

can you get cydia when you jailbreak it with blackrain

My phone is already jailbroken and unlocked. I thought i had to use itunes?

deba - Yes
23nes- use itunes to upgrade to 3.1.2. When you do so you will lose your jailbreak,
