I had my iPhone 3G Jailbroken for 2008, up to this past spring. I started getting really annoyed with the crashes, the inability to purchase apps straight from my phone, as well as the massive decrease in responsiveness and reliability.

I'm thinking about jailbreaking it again though, mostly because i would like to be able to edit a few small things (e-mail sounds) and then make a few modifications elsewhere.

Has anyone noticed if the process (or the end result) has changed in such a way that a jailbroken phone now functions better than a jailbroken phone from, say, the OS 2.x days?
