But my phone still works. I get signal, I can send/receive calls and sms.

It no longer says AT&T at the top left, and my Network shows as Not Available in About.

Running a 3GS 32GB with custom 3.1.2 firmware and 4.6 baseband

Yes known issue on pwned phones after firmware 3.1. Use makeitmine to add custom text or winterboard to theme it.

i assume this is just a UI bug and does not have any deleterious effects on functionality?
