Default Redsnow to Pwn Upgrade 2g

I've used redsn0w to jb/unlock my iphone 2g. I am currently using firmware 3.0 and curious about upgrading to 3.1 or the newest version. I see that you can upgrade to 3.1 using pwn if you've previously jb, bla bla. My question is I only have a windows computer, but at work I have a mac. I backup my phone, ect. with a windows computer. So here is my question.

I want to upgrade to 3.1XX software. I will back up my phone via my home computer (Windows). When I get to work, I will install pwnage tools. Now, do I need to jailbreak using 3.0 software then upgrade to 3.1 using pwnage, or can I go straight to 3.1 using pwnage? Is it necessary that I must use pwnage to jailbreak at 3.0 version before upgrading to 3.1, or since I've used redsn0w can I switch over to pwnage to upgrade?

I hope I'm being clear. trying to explain it the best I can. I'm still a noob in training! Thanks everyone!

Do I need to jailbreak my iphone with pwnage 3.0 software then go to 3.1 since I've used redsn0w or can i switch over to pwnage to upgrade to 3.1? Anyone?

The only was you can jailbreak 3.1 on Windows machine is with a custom pwnage firmware. There should be a new jailbreak available soon though.

Which side does the consensus stand as of now?

    Pwnage or Redsnow?

    PS: I am going from 8GB iPhone 2G 2.2 to 3.1.2 or 3.1.3.
