Cydia Installation on Factory Unlocked 3G iPhone
Hi I have factory unlocked 3G iPhone with 3.1 firmware.
Is there any way to install Cydia without the need to jail break it?
If it is not possible, can I install Cydia applications like Winter Board, Vista Mobile Theme, Categories etc., by any other means without installing Cydia?
Thank you

You must be jailbroken to run Cydia. The only other option is Icy...which requires jailbreaking too.

Thanks CaptainChaos.
If it is not possible to install cydia alone without unlocking 3.1 firmware, can I try following method?
1) Downgrade to 3.0
2) Use redsnow and mark install Cydia alone (Redsnow will have 3 options as you know - Install Cydia, Install Icy, Unlock)
Will this work or will it mess my iPhone?
Thank you

Currently there is NO way to downgrade a 3gs from 3.1 unless you saved some files stored in your phone before installing 3.1 . To have winterboard or any other app not offered by the AppStore you need to be jailbroken to access repositories (like cydia)
