I have a 3GS v3.0.1 that has been redsn0wed.

Can i update to pwnagetool 3.1 ipsw?

Also, can anyone confirm weather push works or not on pwned 3.1 ?

yes, you can and yes, push (of course) works. but, as before with push, you should activate the phone through itunes if you can to have the best push experience ^^

well, if tethering was working before without you doing something it should still work. if you needed to activate tethering on 3.0 by installing an IPCC or a settings profile thant it won't work anymore on 3.1 as of now. benm.at claims they will soon release a solution though

I gathered enough courage to do the upgrade and it went without a hitch.

I made at pretty standard custom ipsw with 700 mb root partition and made sure to NOT check "activate phone" in general settings.

After the restore I then had my original sim card back in the iPhone and let iTunes activate the phone.

After activation I restored my backup, installed ultrasn0w and rebooted the phone.

Then I turned off the phone switch back to my normal sim card and turned the phone back on.

Now I just needed to enter the APN and MMS info in the general->network->cellular network settings and everything was working perfectly.

Even the mms take photo on the fly functionality works now. In redsn0wed 3.0.1 it crashed the messaging app.

Btw: I used iTunes 9 to do the restore on a Mac and iTunes 9 to do activation and restore on a PC.
