pwn tool for 3G using windows

is there a pwn tool for the iphone 3G using windows vista to load the new firmware ipsw. and just to make sure I have the correct firmware it is iPhone1,2_3.1_7C144_Restore.ipsw

That is the official 3.1 FW - it will update your BB if you use it.

Pwnage has never been available on Windows - I don't see that changing any time soon.

There used to be a program called winpwn but the developer stopped working on it last year and it's now dead. So no choice for windows users sadly. Only real option is to run osx in a vmware session and run pwnage on it. Thats what i do

Would you mind pming me either a link to how you were able to get osx running in vmware or maybe pm me some instructions? I was trying to do this last week spending hours changing different settings, I tried every way imaginable except of course the correct way because it kept erroring out. I can't give you the error codes as I gave up trying. I do remember it would give the error then restart the system and was stuck in an endless boot and would not install the osx.

I would appreciate this very much!

visit Dev-Team Blog and go through the comments page and you will find people that can send you a custom ipsw file that's been built with pwnage tool on a mac.

ok well i guess i meant to say redsnOw instead of pwntool... but what does it mean that it will update my baseband, and is that a good or bad thing. i think i am missing out on alot, cause i do not understand alot of this, all i do after j/b is install a few (free)apps, themes and sms tones. What else is available when j/b. thx

No you wont.
No one on the Blog can offer custom ipsw files.
Any posts found offering them will be deleted as will any asking for them.

Pwnage preserves your BB - RedSn0w doesn't. RedSn0w is not yet released for 3.1
If you want to unlock you need to preserve your BB, if you don't you may never be able to unlock again.

If you PC user's need a custom 3.1 ipsw for the 3G
