    Default 2G iPhone jailbreak trouble

So my friend was having issues with his 2G iPhone and decided to restore and re-jailbreak it. Running OSX 10.5.6, newest iTunes and all that. We knew about the current issues with pwntool, but since it was a re-break, figured quickpwn would work fine, as it did last time with the same setup. And we're stuck. Pwnage won't work at all and quickpwn will unlock for Tmobile, but will not activate the phone. We've tried everything and we've tried it on 2 separate Macbooks and my old G4 tower. Any tips at all?

My only suggestion would be to try to restore as a new phone, And jailbreak again. Follow this link may be some help.
Good luck, you'll figure it out.
