Here's my question if i update to 3.0 beta 2,Im on the dev list. So i can but im worried about my baseband being updated as i am not a at&t customer. I dont use a iphone 3g i use the first model (original) current firmware 2.2.1

Yes the baseband is not changed so you'll be ok

Unless I'm misunderstanding the question, updating to the 3.0 beta will definitely update your baseband as well...

what are the added benefits for 2g iphone user with the 3.0 FW anyways?
