used pwnage tool 2.2.5 on my 3G iPhone jailbroken not unlocked).
Used the simple settings and chose to preserve the baseband and that my iPhone is previously jailbrken. Go through whole process without any hitchs, but when it's all said and done, the about screen still shows 2.2 (5G77) as the version number.

Should it not be 2.2.1? have tried process twice.

The two choices that come up for the ipsw file:
iPhone1,2_2.1_5F136_Restore and iPhone1,2_2.2_5G77_Restore in case someone wants to tel me which one to use? (I think I have used both)

neither... you need to download your own 2.2.1 ipsw
