Firmware Error String??

Trying to jailbreak a 1g ipod touch. I am running 2.0. Everytime i try to upgrade to 2.2.1 i always get a connection timed out error and i don't know

Firmware Error String??

Trying to jailbreak a 1g ipod touch. I am running 2.0. Everytime i try to upgrade to 2.2.1 i always get a connection timed out error and i don't know why. So i went ahead and am just gonna jailbreak 2.0. But when i load the firmware using qwkpwn on windows i always get a message saying "firmware Error String" Anyone know why this happend?
