stuck in pineapple screen, help please
i used quickpwn to jailbreak my phone. the phone locked up and so I went into general and went to restore it (wipe clean) and was in the apple logo screen (took about 45min) and when the bar below was complete it turned off and back on with the pineapple logo and it just is locked there. it will cycle every 15min or so but goes right back to the pineapple. it wont connect to Itunes or anything. this is a 2g 8gb unlocked phone, used quickpwn 2.2.1 the file says.

You cant do a "reset all settings" to a jailbroken phone. It will always lockup.
You need to place the phone into DFU mode and restore it in Itunes.

To put the iPhone into DFU mode so you can do an iTunes firmware restore follow these steps:
Step One
Open iTunes and connect the iPhone to your PC.
Step Two
Press and hold the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time.
Step Three
After exactly 10 seconds release the Sleep/Wake button. Continue holding the home button until you iTunes pops up a message telling you that it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode
Here is a link to how to....

iTunes not recognizing it
hey blkcadi,
I just did what the video said like 3 times and iTunes never picks up on it so I'm unable to get into DFU mode.
basically what happen was I jailbroke the phone and then (not thinking) did a clear and erase all settings and content or whatever so now it's stuck on the pineapple boot screen.
Like I said, I can't get it into DFU mode.
Did i just turn my phone into a paperweight?
help!
i must be super tired. never mind. I figured out my problem. Carry on, I got it to work! Thanks guys!Last edited by cordey; 11-13-2009 at 09:06 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Having a simlar problem
Hey Guys,
Please save my life. I have a problem similar to the one described immediately above. I have a jail broke 3g it started to not be recognized by itunes or windows. It wasn't recognized by Ubuntu either. I tried to boot to recovery mode and DFU mode as well but it still would not be recognized by Windows or iTunes. I also tried a Mac and iTunes. The iPhone was still booting and running at that time but couldn't be synced.
As a last resort, I thought I would try "erase all content and settings" and then restore. After about 45 minutes the phone rebooted but is now stuck at the pineapple icon.
I have booted to DFU (followed the instruction in the video 20 times) and recovery mode (I do get a cartoon of Steve Jobs and some russian) since erasing everything and I still can't get iTunes or Windows to recognize the iPhone.
Any thoughts?

Stuck
Hey guys. I have a 3GS. It has been JB'ed for about couple of months now. I was on the phone the other day. When I was done with the call the phone shut off and got stuck at the pineapple screen. What's the cause for this???? I was able to get back into it by restoring my phone but just curious to what happened.
