can i skip from a low firmware to the newest with pwn?

can i go from (for example) 2.0 firmware straight to 2.2 firmware with pwn? and if i "pwn" my iphone will it unlock it and jailbreak it?

Yeah, you can go from 2.0 to 2.2. Simply download the 2.2 restore file from somewhere then restore to that, however you will lose your jailbreak and unlock.

Pwning your phone will do whatever you want it to do; if you just want to jailbreak, you can do that; or if you want to do the full unlock/jailbreak that'll play as well.
