yea after you install yellowsn0w make sure and reboot,i am on tmobile everything is perfect as it was before

Works great on my Iphone 3g. Had to reset it after install and then intall Yellowsn0w. But T-mobile working great and did it all without even using quickpwn. Just do a shift+restore in itunes and use the custom firmware. Thanks Again

I have a 3G on 2.1 and want to go to 2.2. I just upgraded to the 3G from my 2G on Friday. The 2G was simple to JB and Activate compared to the 3G .

I downloaded this file and attempted a restore (windows) on my 3G. It came back with a 1604 error? I am wondering since I am on 2.1 do I need to progress before going to 2.2.1?

I tried it twice and it didnt work.

for me the first time it errored while doing a restore(using the custom FW of course). So then it was stuck in the sync w/iTunes screen
took about 10 mins for that screen to time out and go back to normal.

The 2nd time it still gave me the error but when it finally came to the Sync screen i unplugged it and plugged it back it and iTunes went ahead with the restore. Worked perfect after that.

though that error did concern me however it works so whatever... lol

Thanks Broom. I tried that as well and kept getting the 1604 error message out of Itunes. I wondered if it was because I was trying to go from 2.1 to 2.2.1. Dont see why it would matter though. I would be happy just going to 2.2 as I had on my 2G, but don't think YS .96 is still out there.

I've also been looking for some good-Samaritan-Mac-user to upload or share a custom 2.2.1 FW for ATT customers with a 1GB+ partition (including any baseband updates and activation). I hate not having the ability to create custom IPSWs in Windows. :-(
