    Question Jailbraking 2.2

    Hello!

Today I saw that the dev-team has released yell0wsnow, and wanted to unlock my iPhone 3G.

First though, I needed to upgrade to 2.2 and jailbreak.

    I followed these steps.

My iPhone 3G was never previously jailbroken.
I first upgraded to 2.2 (through iTunes).
Then, I downloaded the update file, so I can make a custom .ipsw
Using PwnageTool 2.2, I started jailbraking.
I did the combination of buttons, and at the end my iTunes said that it doesn't recognize the iPhone.
The PwnageTool though, showed that everything was successful and that it created the .ipsw
But iTunes, whenever I plug in the iPhone, doesn't see it at all. No effect.
I held the Home and Power buttons for a while, and the phone got into recovery mode. I can recover to normal Apple state, but the custom .ipsw comes out with error 21. "The unknown iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. Unknown error "21"."

I restored, and tried the whole process multiple times. So, what gives?

    And thanks in advance.

What version of Leopard are you using? 10.5.5 can no longer but the iPhone into DFU mode unless you connect the iPhone to the computer through a USB hub.
Get "iPod & iTunes for Dummies", it'll change your life.
