Hi, I just got a refurbished 3G from att, and I'm trying to unlock to use t-mobile, and I've been using pwnage, and I did the restore and everything worked just fine, but when I went to "about" on the phone, and checked to make sure the modem firmware was right, it didnt say 2.28, I believe it was like 2.17 or some other crap. I tried to restore again with the custom firmware, but it's still coming up with the random firmware. I already unlocked and jailbroke another 3G a couple weeks ago, and it works((ed)) perfect. What can I do to actually get the correct modem firmware on my phone?

Why not use itunes to restore to FW 2.2, then use quickpwn to jaiblreak the phone. Once its jailbroken you can use YellowsnOw to unlock to t-mobile.
