No wifi + bluetooth after upgrade to 2.1..HELP!!!

Gave someone the instructions I used to upgrade my iphone to 2.1 + jailbreak + unlock using quickpwn, but for some reason their wifi and bluetooth is no longer workikng! they also say that the battery life is horrible, and the ringer doesnt work..

update to 2.2 and do it all again/ If you really want to stay on 2.1 (not sure why, but anyway) just redo the process, starting with a full restore.

I HAVE YOUR ANSWER!!! after screwing around for a long time tying to fix a freinds phone I realized what you need to do if you have no wifi or no carrier.

Ready it is real easy. Restore through itunes...when you use pwned make sure your SIM card is IN. If you do not have a sim in you may not get wifi or edge when you jailbreak unlock. I have no idea why it matters with 2.2 and never did in the past but it does.
