Custom ipsw where to get
I am looking to re-jailbreak my phone but want to increase my main storage from 500mb to something higher but cannot locate custom firmware to use with quickpwn. What is the max size I can use and what do i need to do in order to do this on my own if I cannot find a custom ipsw? I am a Windows user if this helps.

Unfortunately, the only app to build custom FW files is Pwnage, which is Mac only. You can search around the site, someone may have uploaded theirs. There was a thread about it for 2.2 somewhere.
Also, IMO, upping the partition size from 500mb isnt really necessary.
I have a custom file loaded with the stock 500mb partition size and am running perfect with almost exactly 2gb of apps loaded.

I keep getting a running low on memory on my 16gb. I don't have nearly as many apps installed as you so I don't understand what the issue is with mine. I started another thread requesting help in another section.

Well, changing the partition size isnt gonna help the memory issue. I say that, some people say it does....others say it doesnt. Ive never had a problem with the stock partition.
And the apps you have installed doesnt affect the memory issue either.
Memory is all about what processes are running on the phone. Things like Winterboard, SBSettings, Notifier, and widgets or HTML processes (like an HTML background)...anything that continues to run in the background will eat the memory.
I have basically everything you do running and most of the time stay around 30mb of free "memory" space. And everything runs smoothly, never get a "low memory" message.
Its hard to say would exactly could be causing the issue...could just be one app. I would probably restore and start fresh.
Then add the basics like Winterboard, etc. Run for a day or so....see if you have issues, and then go from there.Last edited by cpjr; 01-10-2009 at 09:39 PM.
