Default Is my phone already pwnd & unlocked?

    I just bought a 2nd hand 3g 8gb iPhone on the web.
Getting ready to unlock it, but all I did was put in my old sim card from the previous unlocked 2g phone, activated with itunes & it seems to work. Shows 3g & o2 symbols in top left corner.
Sent a txt & phoned OK.
Is that it? Do I need to do anything else?

Is it possible that the phone you bought is locked to the O2 network thus allowing the O2 card to work?

Looking at the addy it says the 3g phone was with o2 Pay as you Go.
I am with o2 on a monthly contract.
Will o2 be able to know and become suspicious, or can I carry on using it 'as is' with impunity?
Or should I Quickpwn & unlock?

I don't know o2 policy. I know ATT, regardless if it is unlocked or not, will force you into a 3G contract if you are on their carrier. Bottom line is, if O2 is going to say something, they will say it whether you unlock or not. They can identify your phone through its IMEI. Unlocking only allows you to use the phone on carriers it was not "meant for" but does nothing in terms of making your carrier think it is from official contract.
