Plug into iTunes and sync your contacts... then hit restore. This will wipe out the phone and bring you up to firmware 2.2. Then use Quickpwn 2.2 (from our download section) to re-jailbreak and unlock. Then open up iTunes.. set up the phone as NEW... then resync your contacts.

being that this will unclude a baseband update from 1.1.1... and this phone has not been pwnaged before.. I believe it was unlocked using an oldschool unlock. Will this pose any problems?
And with my experience, quickpwn doesnt unlock. It merely jailbreaks. I just did a 1.1.4 iphone, which was never unlocked or jailbroken.. I upgraded to 2.2 and then quickpwned and I had to run bootneuter via cydia, which worked as it showed TMOBILE as the carrier, but it appearantly didnt activate it because when I put the Tmobile sim card in it would popup that an invalid sim was in the phone and to plug into itunes or something of that nature...only allowing me to make emergency calls... I ended up having to use a custom firmware with pwnage tool... which worked. even though that was an easy fix I dont want to find that Im in a different situation with a 1.1.1 phone. Mainly because it is not mine and I would hate to turn a once unlocked 1.1.1 iPhone into a locked 2.2 paperweight. ThanksLast edited by reznor9; 12-28-2008 at 12:24 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

You need to have the SIM card in during the whole process to avoid the "different SIM" issue. Quickpwn DOES unlock now because they have integrated bootneuter into it just like pwnage. 2.2 will upgrade your baseband which is OK since the newest baseband for first generation phones is unlocked.

hmm... it worked at activating, but it didnt unlock it. No big whoop. I will just run bootneuter. Thanks!
bootneuter is crashing... well freezing as soon as it performs the "determining current settings".. any ideas?
Im going to run a custom firmware for 2.2 that I used on my other 2.2... hopefully it will work. Otherwise Im screwed! I hate doing it for other people. I get all nervous. LOL
didnt work... locked me out. Now Im running quickpwn again. Getting a little scared.
now it is saying cannot communicate with boot loader... bootneuter will exit. Resetting now.
once again it freezes after it determines current settings.
What do I do?!
Its on modem firmware 4.05.04
I dont understand why it is doing this
HELP! Im killing time so I dont have to tell him I screwed up! Ive unlocked probably 10 iphones, this is the first problem Ive had. This is also the first Ive upgraded from 1.1.1... what am I doing wrong?Last edited by reznor9; 12-28-2008 at 02:51 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Well if quickpwn didn't unlock it... and bootneuter froze and didn't unlock it that's a bad sign. I had this happen to one phone I did and no matter what I did it never would unlock. First I would DFU restore to 2.2 and get it back to factory. You could try and erase the baseband using KiPhone and then restore and THEN try and reunlock.

What I did was to clean install 2.2 again. Then quickpwn again. Still nothing. Sweating it pretty bad. Finally made another custom firmware. Then restored it again. Finally worked! Deep breath of relief. Thanks for your help though. Finally got the job done

Hi, i'm on windows and i got an iphone with a 1.1.3 firmware already jailbroken and unlocked. I want to update or restore to 2.2 FW and then unlock and jailbrake it with Quick Pwn 2.2. I already tried to restore to 2.2 FW with itunes but there is an error 1011 that says "your iphone software can not be restore"...Now my iphone is on Recovery mode... I also tried other FW, 1.1.4, 2.0.1 and 1.1.3, and same error came up...
What should i do? can somebody help me...

Have you upgraded your iTunes to version 8.0.2? If so I suggest doing a DFU restore.
