Trouble unlocking iphone

I've been trying to unlock my 2g 8gb iphone through pwnage tool and have been having some trouble. I'm running itunes 8.2 and OSX 10.5.5. I started off by doing a normal restore of the iphone to firmware 2.2 which worked fine. Then I proceed to use pwnage tool which works and makes my custom restore. However when I use the custom restore on my iphone the screen turns all white for few seconds and then continues to restores. When I first turn the phone on after the restore I'm back at the activate through itunes screen on the iphone as though the unlock didn't work at all. I've used pwnage toole many times and have not encountered this problem yet. Any advice?

Never mind I figured it out. I just had to change some setting with pwnage tool.
