Default WinPwn fails to recognize DFU

    Running Windows XP WinPwn 2.5

Unlocked dozens of phones for friends and family over the last few months.

    A few days ago I attempted to unlock/jailbreak a 2g phone.

Built Custom IPSW for 2.1, however when I attempted to follow the countdown, it failed to enter DFU. Every time I have gone through the process in the past the phone had a blanc white/gray ish screen when it hit DFU. No such luck this time around.

I tried a few other phones and now I can't seem to get any phone into DFU to complete the process. I am running Itunes 8.0.35

This morning I attempted to further troubleshoot the problem and entered expert mode in WinPwn. I notice that it says 'UnsupportedMobileDevice.dll' right before it attempts to enter DFU and subsequently fails.

Any help would be gladly appreciated!

    EDIT:

A follow up, I've tried QuickPwn as well but it freezes when trying to prepare device.

Restore to 2.2 and use Quickpwn instead. winpwn is not compatible with any firmware after 2.0.2 if I remember correctly.

I've tried using QuickPwn as well.

QuickPwn hangs while waiting for phone to enter Recovery Mode. The phone however does enter Recovery mode.

Waited for about 10 minutes and realized QuickPwn is frozen.

I just posted a similar issue. Are you running 10.5.6? Did you jailbreak it before the update?

Just to be clear... you successfully restored to firmware 2.2 FIRST. Then you ran Quickpwn version 2.2. After Quickpwn puts the phone into recovery mode you have to THEN put the phone into DFU mode as instructed.

The phone was restored to 2.2 successfully, and I just updated Itunes to 8.02 as well.

    Launched QuickPwn...

    Selected all options

Then QuickPwn freezes on this screen:

I have also tried Ziphone with no success.

WinPwn expert had displayed error "Unsupported itunesmobiledevice.dll"

I really need these phones unlocked and jailbroken ASAP. Any other ideas? I've also heard something about USB drivers?

Does the cable type have any affect? It's a Griffin not an Apple.

What version of Quickpwn are you using? You can also FORCE the iPhone into recovery mode by holding down power + home until it kicks into recovery. See what happens.

I am having a similar issue with trying to Jailbreak my iPhone with 2.2 software. It will simply hang trying to connect in recovery mode. I even tried to forcefully put it in recovery mode but still a no go. I am using QuickPwn2.2.

    Any ideas?
