failed jailbreak attempt! plz help!
hi..
I just tried to jailbreak my iphone 3g 2.1(5f136) using pwnage tool, it worked fine until i could not get the iphone recognized by itunes in dfu mode, then i googled and found out about the new macbook problem, i ma using the new aluminium one.
Then i could not get it working, i even tried on my windows machine i was getting error 1600.
Out of frustration , i restored back to original 2.1 firmware(downloaded from mmi). Now i am stuck on activation screen.
I had been using it very well with the gevey-3g turbosim.
I am outside US, plz what do i do now?i am stuck without a phone
I have both macbook and pc.
update: Did a lot of reading on this and realized that i am unable to restore custom firmware as my phone has never been pwned before.
Also quick pwn is not working, it keeps gettin stuck at loading "exploit bootloader".
Really unsure what to do next.Plz help!Last edited by __neo; 12-19-2008 at 12:02 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Make sure you are using Quickpwn 2.1 and NOT 2.2. If you are using 2.1 then make sure your .net framework is up to date.
NOTE: If you upgraded to firmware 2.2 that upgraded your baseband, and your sim adapter is not going to work with the new baseband.Last edited by center_99_99; 12-23-2008 at 09:52 AM.

Both quickpwn and pwnage require DFU mode to work which is broken by the new macbooks and OSX 10.5.6. You will need to go purchase a USB Hub which uses it's own drivers to obtain DFU mode.
