Question About Baseband

Hi

From my understanding there's no way I can jailbreak an iphone 3G on 2.1 to 2.2 without updating the baseband using WINDOWS? Do I have to use a Mac and pwnage in order to keep my old base band? There's no way to jailbreak 2.1 using quickpwn then to 2.2? Quickpwn doesn't replace the new baseband on 2.2 with 2.1 does it? My problem is that I can't get a hold of a Mac easily so yea.

Edit: I found a copy of the custom firmware for 3G that preserves the baseband. I solved my problem.
