Default Something weird i noticed after upgrading 1.1.4 to 2.2

Here's the deal...i had a new iphone i just purchased that was still on the 1.1.4 firware. I upgraded the phone to 2.2 and unlocked it to use it on the t-mobile network today. Now here is the weird part. As i was driving to KFC a while ago, i noticed that i had a 3g icon on the screen where the edge icon usually is. The phone works great...dont get me wrong...but i was just wondering if something was wrong with the firmware or i installed the wrong firmware...just wondering...

Yeah, I'd say it's definitely the wrong firmware; even if it was a 3G phone, that wouldn't work considering AT&T and T-Mobile's 3G networks are on a different frequency.

Sounds like it's time for a restore! (Unless you like it of course)

    ^what he said.

You upgraded, therefore apple chose the firmware. Often times when you upgrade, little things stick from the old firmware (eg. modified carrier names), this is just another example of that.
