Do I need to upgrade my iPhone to regular 2.2 firmware before I do the 2.2 firmware unlock, or can I just leave it like it is? Because using Pwnage, it basically just upgrades it for you.
yes and no
if ur using quikpwn u can unlock 2.0 to 2.2
if ur building the ipsw file 2.2 ur device will be one 2.2 unlocked
anyways nore info about ur device wont be bad and let me know what u want exactlly so i get back to u
It is an iPhone 2G, 8GB. It has a completely drained battery so I can't do anything until it charges up for a little bit. I do not know what firmware it is currently on.
I will be using Pwnage 2.2 for Mac, following iClarified's guide on doing so, but it did not mention that I needed to have the iPhone's official firmware up to date as well.
UPDATE: It just powered on and is on 2.2 anyways. I'm all good!
