Default iPhone 3G error 1013 after Jailbreak

    Hi,

i jailbreaked my iphone 3G sunday evening, everything went fine and i saw my carrier on the top left corner. monday morning i awoke and checked out my iphone, there was an error stating that the iPhone couldn't find a carrier and that i had to restore my iphone. So i restored my iphone back to the original 2.2 firmware and just when the restore process would finish i got an error, something like this: "unknown error occured (1013)"

I have tried to restore both the jailbroken and original firmware but nothing works, he keeps booting into DFU mode (i see a cable and an itunes logo on the screen, no emergency call thing) and itunes says i have an iphone in recovery mode and that i need to restore. The process almost completes but gives me the same error over and over again, i have tried restoring 7 times. With/Without SIM-card, on different USB-Ports, on other mac's, nothing works!

(i have a belgian iphone, so it's sold unlocked, i don't need to unlock it)

please can anyone help me? this is so stupid! I want to restore back to 2.2

You need to put your phone into DFU mode (black screen). The cable and itunes logo is not DFU. Once you restore back to 2.2 then you can do the jailbreak with Quickpwn 2.2.1.

DFU Mode: Power phone off... hold power+home for 10 seconds... let go of power while continuing to hold home for an additional 10 seconds and BAM! DFU Mode Then restore to the stock apple 2.2 firmware by plugging into iTunes and hit RESTORE.

If you are in recovery mode (iTunes logo with USB) then hold home for 5 seconds... then hold power while continuing to hold home for 10 seconds.. let go of power while continuing to hold home and THEN this will be DFU (Black screen).

Not likely. Sometimes folks have a problem when doing a normal update/restore.

does nobody have a solution for this problem?
my iphone is still at the store where i bought it, the carrier hasn't picked up my phone to fix it. So in the meantime I can always search for some solutions.

When i tried going from restore mode to dfu mode the phone just turned itself off (because i was pressing the power button i guess) and rebooted into restore mode.

is there anyway to get your phone from restore mode to DFU??

    1. Plug the phone into itunes
    2. Turn phone off
    3. Hold both the power and home button for exactly 10 seconds
    4. Release the power button but continue to hold the home button for 10 seconds or until itunes recognizes the phone

You should then be in DFU mode (black screen). If you have a graphic, then start over.

i had this problem as well! what you need to do is to get that beauty (iphone) into DFU mode, alt click the RESTORE button and select the firmware that you DOWNLOADED when you first used pwnage to jailbreak (should be called iPhone1,2_2.2_5G77_Restore.ipsw). if you select this one to restore everything SHOULD go fine... well... i had the same prob as you yesterday and this worked fine for me, iphone is as virgin as they come now...

    Lightbulb Here's how to

Connect your iPhone to your Mac or PC and select your iPhone from the list of devices in iTunes. If iTunes does not detect your iPhone then you will need to put it in DFU (Device Firmware Upgrade) mode.

You can follow these steps to put your iPhone in DFU mode (this is required only if iTunes does not recognize your iPhone):

    * Connect your iPhone to your computer.
    * Turn iPhone off.
    * Hold power and home together for 10 seconds (exactly).
    * Release power but keep holding home until the computers beeps (observed on a PC) as a USB device is recognized.
    * A few seconds later iTunes should detect your iPhone.

Browse the Summary Tab, For Mac user Hold down Option and press the “Restore” button. For Windows user hold down Shift and press the Restore button. Now you will be able to browse the folder where you have the iPhone firmware.Select the firmware & hit the restore button and cross your fingers for 5 minutes.

If you get error message like 1011, 1013, 1015, just ignore them(Actually the firmware 2.2.1 is already successfully installed). Fire up Quickpwn 2.2.5 to kick it out of recovery and jailbreak again, your phone will be back at 2.2.1

Just download quickpwn 2.25-2 and run it, if yours is an officially unlocked phone you wont have a problem.

Just had a look at that site - I certainly wouldn't buy from them!

    A couple of pointers...
This is the FULL-FUNCTION American version and will work all over the world with anyone SIM!
Warranty of the manufacturer of 12 months + 30 days money back.
    Made in United States
English doesn't appear to be their first language.
The iPhone is not and never has been made in the USA

And the price? When something seems to good to be true it usually is.

1013 means you have a BB mismatch. If you are on FW 2.21 you need to use that FW not the 2.20 version you are using.

FW = Firmware - What version are you on?

    BB 2.30.03 came with FW2.21
FW 2.20 came with BB 2.28.00

Download 2.21 from here and you should be OK.
