Default 2.2 upgrade wifi issue with cydia

    Hi,

I updated 1st gen iPhone from 2.1 to 2.2 using pwnage for mac.

However, after that Cydia doesn't download any package through wi-fi. It stops and then it doesn't install. It says return to cydia.

    However, it downloads through GPRS.

I tried command line apt-get. It also stops.

    Thanks,

    Shiva

Try running quickpwn for mac. That fixes most cydia problems.

It doesn't look like a cydia issue.

Generally the wifi is slow in 2.2

Even emails through wifi takes lot of time.

When I ping my iPhone either it times out or the latency is more than 5 seconds (not milliseconds).

Now I have downgraded to 2.1 and things are back to normal.

/\ try it again, *restore*, now jailbreak/unlock using quickpwn. now, it could be activated and itunes will ask to restore settings form back up, don't use your back up b/c it could be corrupt just setup as new iphone.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your help.

I am in 2.1. Now I should restore to 2.2 or 2.1. In DFU mode or Normal Mode or Restore Mode?

This problem doesn't occur in iPhone 1st gen that is released first (i.e < 45 in IMEI).

I upgraded a very old iphone and its working fine. But 2 phones with IMEI > 45 (6&7th digits) saw this symptom.

    I did some R&D.

I Pinged the iPhone continuously and toggled wifi.

When the connection is created in iPhone, it pings perfectly and the response time in 2 to 3 ms. After a few packets (7 to 10 packets) it times out or response time is more than 600 or 2000 ms.

    Just pasting the output.
