Proper explanation of no service problem on 3g iphones, 2.2 firmware

Right basically I have a iphone 3g using a TurboSim. I updated to 2.2 by mistake through iTunes. I now realise that the reason I now get no service is because the baseband has been updated. This has made the TurboSim solution not work anymore. This is the reason I get no service and same for anyone else who updated a 3g iphone to 2.2 and uses a TurboSim.

I have tried downgrading the firmware to 2.1 and 2.0 but I still have no service - this is because the baseband now will always stay updated to the new 2.2 version despite what firmware you have.

So now I am going to have to wait until a new TurboSim compatible with 3g 2.2 firmware (and updated baseband) or until someone comes up with a solution to downgrade the baseband. If someone knows if either of these are possible yet reply on this thread or the following thread please http://www.modmyi.com/forums/pwnage/...o-service.html

Thank you!!!
