VERY short battery life with 2.2?

Last night I upgraded my jailbroken 3G 2.1 iPhone to 2.2 and jailbroke it using the new QuickPwn. I plugged it into my charger and went to bed. Ever since I woke up and unplugged it the battery life has been HORRIBLE! Wifi is off, 3G is off, no applications are running, rebooted it three times. I'm talking battery life of 5 hours in sleep mode. I woke up by 6 and by 11 it was completely dead. The phone is constantly hot, like it's been running a program for extended periods of time. Has anyone else been experiencing this issue?

it maybe the quickpwn problem, I am using pwnage 2.2.1 for jailbroke, but it does not jailbroke, ssh does not work, cydia does notwork, in my case it's more stable than use quickpwn. Of cause I have been used quickpwn done a 2.2 one time, but it's not staple. Am I right?

I would have to agree with the OP; My battery went from 100 - 50 in about 2 hours. Granted I was d/l and reinstalling all my JB app's.

my 2.2 is also eating up the battery life much quicker than 2.1 .. i have hardly used my phone today .. been uncharged for roughly 2 hours and its already @ 76% .. 2.1 it would have been @ 90 easy.. whats going on? im gonna restore to factory 2.2 and test .. i need to know if this is a JB issue or 2.2 factory issue.

Mine was doing the same thing but today seems to fine. Battery still at 90% after 20-30 sms some face booking and a few games of spore. I also have blue tooth 3G and Wifi on. but yesterday was another story did same amount of sms and face booking played games for about a hour, battery was down to 35% by the end of the day. But it never got hot.

I believe that it is a little to early to tell about my battery life. However, so far I have the same themes, settings, and apps just like I had in 2.1, and I have not noticed any difference in the battery. I have not noticed the battery lasting less or longer under the same daily usage. However, I am still testing for another week and will post any difference if I see any.

I had a similar battery problem after my first pwnage on my 3g - so I resinstalled a couple more time - same problem. I think the updates to Winterboard and Intelliscreen solved the problem.
Today - iPhone is running cool and battery lasted the whole day (which is typical for me).

Battery life is really not affected by the previous use of QuickPwn or Pwnage. If the machine is hot, some heavy process is running. SSH into your iPhone and run top or ps -e to check active processes. Intelliscreen users may have had some processes running continuously because the software wasn't ready for 2.2, who knows. I doubt winterboard has anything to do with it. In my case, it looks pretty much as in 2.1, after 2 or 3 days on 2.2.

My personal experience is since that 2.X firmware is introduced the issue of battery was always there. 2.1 eats up battery pretty quick, you cannot go more than 1 day charge, but now 2.2 is doing the same. I'm disappointed!! I wanted to upgrade only because of 2.1 eating battery but since you guys have experienced it so there is no use. I don't need google street view, it's not yet available in UK
