quick question about quickpwn 2.1 > 2.2
I'm not 100% sure about this answer so I figured I'd ask any help is greatly appreciated...Thanks all
I have iphone3g 16GB im not worried about unlocking the phone but when I got it I had FW2.1 (Apple) and then I upgraded to quickpwn 2.1FW now quickpwn 2.2 is out.
do I have to upgrade the apple FW to 2.2 then run quickpwn 2.2 to jailbreak ? Or seeing my iphone is already jailbroken will I just have to update it to quickpwn 2.2. If I have to run apple FW 2.2 and then jailbreak to 2.2 will I lose all my cydia apps and such.
I'm guessing I may have to just run quickpwn 2.2 so it can overwrite my existing files and then I will be all set with the new apple FW and my quickpwn FW 2.2...
I guess im looking to go from 2.1 to 2.2 with out losing any of my installer and cydia apps and so on...
Thanks for all your help if this dosent make any sense please let me know I can re-explain....Thanks all...
PS thanks DEV TEAm !! You guys all kick *** !!!!
PSS has anyone com across any problems with quickpwn 2.2 ??Last edited by redbugsbunny; 11-23-2008 at 05:33 AM.

Yea I don't believe there is a way to NOT loose your installed items...
I did it the normal way and now I am reinstalling all my apps and themes.

You can use AptBackup to backup your jailbroken apps. And then restore then once you Jailbroken you Iphone again.. AptBackup is available on cydia.

I guess everyone has figured out that pwnage 2.2 returns an error at the end of the build. I just saw 2.2.1 posted, and am in the process of building the custom .ipsw So far all seems good! Now for a newbie question: All my apps are in my iTunes. When I go from pwned2.1 to pwned 2.2.1 will I lose everything on the phone? Will a restore be as simple as connecting to iTunes and letting it sync?

When your pwned 2.2 phone connects to itunes, itunes will ask if you want to set it up as a new phone or from a previous back-up. If you choose the backup, it will put all your stuff back during the sync.
