iphone 2g 2.2 After i restore with itunes without quickpwn my carrier says T-mobile?

ok something weird happen to me. i did a dfu on my iphone 2g and restored it on itunes with the 2.2 firmware after it installed i have full bars and the logo T-mobile with my edge icon. but i cant get into the phone it self besides emergency calls. is this normal? anyway i use quickpwn and it has bypass that screen. but is that suppose to be normal this was the first time that happened to me. i should of tried making a call using that "emergency call glitch"

Thats not a "glitch"....the phone just wasnt "activated" yet. Which quickpwn did.

i bought my 3g with 2.1 and free sim (I have told by that seller that mine is unlocking version with no need turbo sim). Then, I just pwnage my 3g to 2.2. unfortunately, I can't make any call/receive. there is only one bar or no service at the signal bar and my carrier does not show up at setting... please help me... so tired....

Get with the seller about the "unlock", because there isn't a soft unlock for 3G only current unlock is foreign 3G unlocked from apple. If not, you need a sim adapter, but now with 2.2, current adapters don't work because 3G 2.2 updates the baseband. Sounds like your stuck with a Touch for now until new sim adapters are out...

To the op samething happened to me. I was unlocked and jailbroken Tmobile with firmware 2.1 AnD when I restored to the stock 2.2 firm ware in iTunes the phone still had the Tmobile logo and edge icon as if the unlock was preserved. But of course it wasn't cause as you said it could only make emergency calls. Real weird. Like you I just ran quickpwn and unlocked and jailbroke again and it's been all good. Still weird tho

It was unlocked still because the 1st gen 2.2 didn't update the baseband which was unlocked on your phone already with 2.1. Because you were running TMo, and not AT&T, you needed Quickpwn to activate which was why you could only make emergency calls.

after surfing looking for solution, i found a working method for my problem. repawnge again, but in custom ipsw, go to general and unclick phone activated. and that it, go through like always.. solve my problem. goodluck for you
