No Bluetooth after Pwnage on 3G?
I just receieved a 3G to play with a few weeks ago and I recently used pwnage to activate and jailbreak it to firmware 2.1... everything works great aside from the bluetooth. It searches for discoverable devices but wont respond or discover my earpiece. I restored 2 times already to see if maybe something was corrupt. No dice. The headset syncs to my 2G iPhone on 2.1, but not the 3G. Any idea why? Anyone else experiencing this problem?
Is it because I used pwnage and didnt upgrade to the latest modem firmware(baseband)?
Is it because I dont have an AT&T sim in the phone?
I am using a universal sim adapter right now with my tmobile sim.
I just cant imagine why it wouldnt work... there is of course the off chance that the bluetooth chip in the phone is broken I guess..
any way that I can troubleshoot this?
UPDATE: NM, Figured it out. The 2G didnt require me to put the BT earpiece into discovery mode, it detected it just by using any function on the earpiece... the 3G actually required me to hold down the BT earpiece's power button until it went into discovery mode... all is wellLast edited by reznor9; 09-20-2008 at 02:30 PM.

bluetooth can't find jawbone earpiece
Hey there,
Sounds like you have the answer to my question.
I have a 1st gen iphone and just recently did the pwnage hack so I can use my tmobile sim. Not sure what jailbreak is or if it's just a part of pwnage. I am at firmware 2.1
Bluetooth question: I turn on my jawbone and then turn on the bluetooth on my iPhone. It just seems to go on forever and ever in discoverable mode. Any ideas/suggestions what I can do so I can use my jawbone. The speaker on the iPhone is not that desirable while driving. You can't barely hear anything.
Thanks.

read the owners manual of your jawbone. It will give specific instruction on how to place your earpiece into discovery mode. Once you do that, the phone will detect it right away and ask you for the pairing code
UPDATE: I was bored and decided to do the looking for you... all you have to do is turn on the bluetooth option on the iPhone, it will start looking for bluetooth devices..
Now make sure your Jawbone earpiece is off.
To put the earpiece into discovery mode, you hold down the black button...not the power button, but the black button... hold it until the red light comes on(I think its a red light, might be yellow or blue) and then your iPhone should detect it and ask for the pairing code...
thats it!
good luck and your welcome.Last edited by reznor9; 09-22-2008 at 06:38 PM.
