1g iPhone, quickpwnd, then bootneutered to unlock, but something is not right.

Hello everyone. Thanks for all the great info provided on this forum, but I am having a problem that I have not seen mentioned or have not found.

This is a 1g iPhone
2.0.2
8.0 iTunes
Need to use on T-mobile

I had problems with the 1600 error when I was using winpwn 2.5. I decided to use Quickpwn to jailbreak the phone, worked great. Then I used Booneuter (from Cydia) to unlock the phone. I put in my T-Mobile SIM card and it works, but I get the "connect to iTunes" screen on the phone, I can receive/make calls fine, but I don't have my home screen. If I take the T-mobile SIM card out, I get my home screen back and all my APPs, but obviously I can't use the phone. Why is either/or working, not both?

Appreciate any of the help.
