2.0.2 to 2.1 and iPhone locks - Help

I have a 2G 2.0.2 iPhone right now on Tmobile and when I went to upgrade the firmware to 2.1 I used this guide.

XPWN!

But when I finish the phone is locked/not activated and on iTunes it says this Sim card is not compatible.

Wondering what is wrong or what I may be doing wrong.

I'm on iTunes 8.

That tutorial is for jailbreaking only. I says nothing about "unlocking" the phone....and anytime you reload a firmware it is going to relock your phone.

There isnt currently a way to "unlock" 2.1 on WinPC until Winpwn updates.

Check out this thread. You may be able to find a 2.1 unlocked firmware file that will work for you. Make sure you read through the thread good and follow the instructions.
