Any chance you can upload the original Mobileinstallation file for the touch? Or if the phone one is the same, that one? I dont want cracked apps, but i would like to backup. When I did the Morphy quickpwn method I didnt copy that file before jb'ing and now I connot backup.

hey guys I'm having a problem. When I click Shift + Restore in itunes 8, it goes directly to "Extracting Software" I take it itunes has the restore image cache somewhere, any idea where it might be?

Will this unlock a locked 2.1 phone if I restore it from scratch?

Not to flame or whatever. But Grip went through a bit of trouble to help us as much as he did. The custom boot logo isn't my thing, but Grip is awesome and I think the custom logo is acceptable to me for the simple fact I wanted 2.1 early and could only do it with the help of Grip.
Thanks again Grip.

so if im on tmobile and i do shift restore in itunes v8 with the non ATT fw, that is all i have to do? this is unlocked with the youtube fix?
also, will this let me keep my paid apps from itunes? im just confused as to whether or not i can upgrade from 2.0.1 to 2.1 and keep my paid apps. with the cyndia backup its easy to get those back. please let me know, thanks!

this is my first time restoring a custom firmware. Do I need to put my phone in DFU or restore mode before I do the shift+restore in iTunes?
Or I can just plug in my iPhone, let iTunes detect it and shift+restore to the custom firmware?
Sorry for the newb question, just wanted to be sure. Many thanks!
