how do i tell my mac to use the custom ipsw...

that I have created on my desk top? is it automatic or do i have to put it in a certain folder to be reconized?

Desktop is fine.

Plug your phone in iTunes...hold down Option key and click on RESTORE...popup window will show...then go choose your custom file wherever you had put it. (desktop)

For future, easier restores you can place the pwned .ipsw file in ~/Library/Itunes/Iphone Software Updates in your Mac.

Thats what I did, so there are no mistakes.
