Solving Mail & WiFi password and Passcode Lock problems (Pwnage 2.0.3 jeailbreak)

PwnageTool 2.0.3 released August, 25th 2008 potentially breaks permissions which cause incorrect password and other issues.

I've created a detailed post with instructions how to fix these and keep the post updated until Dev Team releases an update of PwnageTool.

Your fix from your detailed post did fix the password, wifi, and email issues, HOWEVER, now since the permissions changed iTunes gives an error saying that the disk could not be read from or written to.. and gave a cannot find disk error as well... any ideas to fix this one while still keeping the fixes from before? thanks

@Bucho: I cannot confirm this. I've applied ALL of the fixes myself and iTunes works just fine. May be you're facing additional problems with other root causes? Do you run a first gen iPhone?

I appreciate the steps for sure! fixed my problems
I followed the steps a little bit differently. Here's my approach.... and as BeSharp stated this may be a bit easier for some users.

1.) Download Terminal from Cydia.
2.) Launch Terminal
3.) Type 'su root' and hit return
4.) Type 'alpine' and hit return
5.) Type 'cd /' and hit return
6.) Type 'chmod 777 /var/Keychains' and hit return
7.) Type 'chmod -R 777 /private/var/Managed\ Preferences/' and hit return
8.) Type 'restart' and hit return

Thanks again,

Bucho
That might be a reason. So far I've only talked to first gen users. May be there's a subtle difference software wise (though I would wonder). Would be great if you keep us posted with your findings.

Try this:

SSH to your phone and

chown -R mobile:mobile /var/mobile/Library/Mail

Worked for me.

Followed this, now i have ZERO web capabilities. No email. No safari. Nothing works.
