How to unlock/jailbreak 3g iPhone.

My current 3g iphone is 2.0.1 firmware... and i've read many topic regarding to unlocking 3g iphones... but it had some mixed saying.

any ideas?

you can jailbreak the 3g iphone, but you cannot unlock it unless you use some sort of hardware fix like turbo sim.
